yesterday i completely failed to do anything on the LDSTCompUnit. the
online meeting with 100 Marketnext members went well, however took until
12:30.

however i helped Michael, Tobias and Cole with components of the
pipelines.  in particular, with Michael, we had to go through and define
the SPR regfile and other allocations for the operations to be done by the
Branch pipeline.  it's a *lot*.

this took well into the night, beyond 1:30am, so will have consequences.

today i am therefore unlikely to do anything particularly useful in terms
of focus or planned in advance.

just see how it goes.

Yesterday I worked on the branch Function Unit and implemented (I think) 
all the types of regular branches (no traps though). Today, I'd like to 
finish up the CR Function unit, and do some general tidying.

sounds great.

i don't know about you, i was deeply impressed that crand etc are all
implemented in about 2 key lines of code by using the actual instruction
bitfield as a 4 row truth table.

this is so ridiculously minimalistic that it is worth documenting properly,
otherwise it is easy to overlook, a la "where's the damn switch
statement??" :)

Yesterday I made my first attempt at implementing the bperm instruction
(function unit?), with significant help from Luke and Yehowshua. Luke
has left me TODOs to fix on the file bperm.py. I have done a git pull,
and I am now going to edit bperm.py to bring it up to spec with Luke's
corrections.
